Indigo Insights

Indigo Hearts’ purpose is to provide a sanctuary to all the Indigos on the planet. Welcome to your new home Indigos, you are safe and amongst your peers. This is a spiritual sanctuary, a sacred place where you can grow and learn about your life mission. We believe that the Indigos have a special purpose and Indigo Hearts is here to guide them in discovering it.

What is an Indigo?

Indigos are any of us who know deep inside that we were born to do something special and different. We know we are born to make a difference, no matter what it is. This can be on a small scale or a wider one. How do you know you are an Indigo? You most likely always knew, since you were born, that you were different. You felt like a misfit with your family, friends, at school, work and with people. However, you were OK with it, as you had the emotional maturity of an old soul to handle it. You always felt that there was something out there for you. As an adult, you are still the odd person out and don’t fit in with everyone. You tried to fit, and found out that it is not for you! This is a short description, but most of you will get it now! You do not need more information to know that IT is!

Indigo Adults?

Now you know you are an Indigo but you may still have doubts that there are more of you out there! Yes, there are plenty of us out there now! The focus on the recent arrival of the “New Indigo Kids” has put the spotlight on them, thus ignoring the existence of Indigo adults. That leaves you, the Indigo adults, amongst us and unsupported as the focus is on the Indigo Kids with special abilities. This leaves many of you who are new to the Indigo world ignorant of your spiritual purposes & gifts.

Indigo Hearts Focus

Indigo Hearts’ focus is to help those who are willing to open up to the amazing world that awaits them: the Indigo Universe! Many know that their kids are Indigos but would never think that they are Indigos themselves! The internet & print media has plenty of information about the young Indigos, but there is little information to help the mature ones. Doreen Virtue, PhD, calls the earlier generations of Indigos “Scouts”, meaning that they have paved the way by showing up in much smaller groups.

Indigo’s History

Amazingly, there have been many Indigos before us, for many centuries. Here are a few random examples of famous Indigos who lived before our time: we go back in history as far as Joan of Arc in France (1412 – 1431), William Shakespeare in England (1564 – 1616) Sir Isaac Newton (1643 –1727) and Albert Einstein (1879-1955). As for our present time: Dalai Lama, spiritual leader of Tibet, Doreen Virtue and even Robin Williams. These are a few examples of Indigos throughout history, showing that the concept of the Indigo Generation is not a New Age fad!

Indigo the color

As an interesting insight, Isaac Newton defined the Indigo color as a spectral color. He was an English physicist, mathematician, astronomer, natural philosopher, alchemist, and theologian who is perceived and considered by a substantial number of scholars, and the general public, as being one of the most influential men in history. Is it a coincidence that Newton was an alchemist and he coined the indigo color? Follow this link to Wikipedia.org for more insights on Newton (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_newton)

History on Indigo Children

Though many think of Indigo Children as being a New Age fad, the term was actually coined by Nancy Anne Tappe in 1982, as she described children who were alleged to possess special traits or abilities. She wrote the book “Understanding Your Life through Color” in 1982 and described them as having “indigo” auras. You can read more about Nancy Anne Tappe on Wikipedia.org by following the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indigo_children#cite_note-0

Doreen Virtue Insights on Indigo Children

One of the earliest pioneers in educating the world of the existence of Indigos is Doreen Virtue, PhD. Herself an Indigo, she has been instrumental in raising the awareness and importance of the spiritual mission of the Indigos. All of her books are highly recommended, and for anyone wanting more information on Indigo, get this book: “The Care and Feeding of Indigo Children” by Doreen Virtue, PhD (2001). The focus is on kids but it can be easily adapted for adults (use your imagination). It is a great book for the start of your journey.
